Location of settings file

In Resource Central ver. 3.8, Add-in setting data are stored in the settings.XML file. Its location is as follows:

  • Anyone: C:\ProgramData\Add-On Products\Resource Central\Add-in
  • Only me: C:\Users\<user’s name>\AppData\Local\Add-On Products\Resource Central\Add-in

Content of settings file

These configurations are stored in the settings file in order that users can make change as they wish:

Entry Description
ResourceCentralURL URL to connect with RC backend
DefaultLocation When user sets a location to default in ResourceFinder, the new default location's id will be saved here
LogLevel

Level of logging:

  • 0 : no log
  • 1 : only log error
  • 2 : Error and Warning
  • 3 : Error, Warning and Information
WindowStates Dimension configured for ResourceFinder and MyMeetings window

Add-in upgrade scenarios

When you upgrade Resource Central ver. 3.7 to Resource Central ver. 3.8, all settings data in Registry are deleted and replaced with the new one in the settings.XML file.

When you upgrade an older version of Resource Central ver. 3.8 to a newer version of Resource Central ver. 3.8, all settings data in the old settings.XML file are deleted and replaced with the new one.
